Thu returns to SFJAZZ, San Francisco's premiere jazz concert hall, as part of the SFJAZZ Discover Jazz Series, led by the superb Bay Area guitarist and music educator Terrence Brewer. While the 1960s would become one of the most revolutionary times in modern culture, many transformative changes would take root in 1959, a year that not only produced groundbreaking and trendsetting albums, but launched a pivotal moment that took the jazz branch of the musical tree and split it into many different directions. Join me, Terrence Brewer, Rob Dehlinger, Anne Sajdera, Karen Horner, and Sylvia Cuenca, as we explore the music and the musicians that revolutionized jazz in 1959.

Tickets are now available and already nearly sold out. Please purchase your tickets soon! The SFJAZZ 2022-2023 Season will be phenomenal!

In January 2013, SFJAZZ took the most audacious step in its evolution, opening the 36,000-square-foot, $64 million SFJAZZ Center in the heart of San Francisco’s cultural corridor.  The first stand-alone structure in the country built specifically for jazz, the SFJAZZ Center was designed by award-winning San Francisco architect Mark Cavagnero, who worked with acoustician Sam Berkow and theater designer Len Auerbach to create a main performance space with the acoustic quality of a great concert hall and the relaxed intimacy of a jazz club.
