On Saturday, February 28th, Thu brings her unique Helen Merrill Tribute show to debut at Pangea, the intimate East Village supper club and New York Incubator for experimental performance!

Pangea markets itself as a “safe place for taking artistic risks,” a platform for artists “of all persuasions.” It attracts a broad spectrum, from jazz and song-writers to alt-cabaret, theater-music hybrids, spoken word, experimental, drag, gender-fluid performance, multimedia performance art, etc. The space aims to recreate old-school “downtown hospitality”: a place where artists, locals, and visitors can mingle, enjoy a meal + show, and feel part of a creative community.

Thu is paying tribute to one of the most influential jazz vocalists in her career as well as in the golden era of Jazz - the legendary Ms. Helen Merrill! This is a very special and unique performance she has been planning all year!

She will be interpreting the tunes from Helen’s greatest albums, including “Dream Of You,” “Helen Merrill,” “You’ve Got A Date With the Blues,” “The Nearness Of You,” and “Helen Merrill With Strings,” many of these arrangements written by the late great Quincy Jones and Gil Evans.
